The 77th San Francisco Boat Race dinner celebrates the 158th Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. It promises to be a fine affair in the elegant ambience of the Presidio Golf Club Clubhouse with majestic views over San Francisco's historic Presidio Golf Course. Built in 1897, the Tudor-style clubhouse is considered one of the finest examples of early clubhouse architecture. The entrance to the clubhouse is on West Pacific Avenue (not Presidio Terrace) and parking is free.

Philippa Kelly, Resident Dramaturg at California Shakespeare Theater, will be the distinguished guest speaker. Dr Kelly is a renowned Shakespearean scholar and author of "The King and I", a memoir on contemporary Australian life interpreted through the prism of King Lear which has just received the 2012 Berkeley Library Authors Award. She completed her PhD in Shakespearean tragedy at the University of Queensland, Australia, and in 1986 was a visiting scholar at Oriel College, Oxford. She currently teaches with the UC Berkeley Osher Institute.

Co-chairs are Matthew Kaser (Linacre, Oxford) and Peter Robinson (Fitzwilliam, Cambridge).

Cocktails are at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 7:15 pm. The Boat Race video will be played before dinner at 6:15 pm and again after dinner.

The dinner, including wine, is $95 for adults and $89 for seniors and students. Special rates are available for bookings made by March 17th 2012. Note the dinner is restricted to alumni, academic visitors and former employees of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, and there is a limit of one accompanying guest for each Oxford or Cambridge alumnus.

Please note that the entrance to the Presidio Golf Club Clubhouse is on West Pacific Avenue, not Presidio Terrace. Although the Club's mailing address is Presidio Terrace, the clubhouse entrance faces the golf course on West Pacific Avenue. Enter Presidio National Park through the gate at the top of Arguello Boulevard, then make an immediate left at the stop sign onto West Pacific, and the clubhouse is on the left after 100 yards with a green awning.
